Oficialmente, inicia la cuenta regresiva para la noche más importante de la industria del cine. Esta mañana, la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas reveló las nominaciones a la 87ª edición de los Premios Oscar.

Los directores Alfonso Cuarón y J.J. Abrams, así como por el actor Chris Pine y la presidenta de la Academia Cheryl Boone Isaacs fueron los encargados de anunciar los nominados de las 24 categorías desde el Teatro Samuel Goldwyn de Beverly Hills.

‘Birdman’ de Alejandro González Iñárritu y ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ de Wes Anderson recibieron nueve candidaturas, siendo llas películas con mayor número de nominbaciones este año, seguidas por ‘The Imitation Game’ con ocho y ‘Boyhood’ y ‘American Sniper’, con seis.

Hubo sorpresas y a la vez decepciones, especialmente en una de nuestras categorías favoritas: Mejor Animación. ‘Big Hero 6’, ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ y ‘The Boxtrolls’ se disputarán el premio con la europea ‘Song of the Sea’ y la japonesa ‘The Tale of the Princess Kaguya’. No hubo rastro de ‘The Lego Movie’ (kleenex, por favor!). La película solo logró una nominación en la categoría de Mejor Canción Original con ‘Everything Is Awesome’ *inserte la ironía aquí*.

De las 323 cintas que estuvieron elegibles este año, solo ocho (no diez, como en años anteriores) se enfrentarán por conseguir la estatuilla dorada como Mejor Película.

La 87ª ceremonia de los Premios Oscar se realizará el próximo 22 de febrero y será presentada por Neil Patrick Harris.
